How to Send BCC out of your email client:

Please be mindful at all times, to maintain everyone's privacy!

BCC stands for Blind Carbon Copy. If you want to send an email or simply forward an email you've received to a whole bunch of people maintaining EVERYONE'S PRIVACY, this is the way to do it:

You should have 2 different email accounts to effectively set this up.   This exact method will be for people using Outlook Express.

1. Open a New email message or Create Mail (if new) or hit the "Forward" button

2. Click the icon of the address book next to the "To"

3. Your address book pops up - on the left you'll see all your address book names and on the right you'll see 3 boxes below one another, marked "To", "CC" and "BCC"

4. Now, on the left side, highlight up to 25 names at a time to whom you wish to send your message to, or click each one individually, either dragging them to the BCC box or click the "BCC" button and add to "BCC" and click "ok"

or Select each name individually (up to 25) add to BCC

5. Holding down the "ctrl" key allows you to select more than one name at a time (keeping all other hi-lighted names in memory)

6. Choose one of your own personal "From" email accounts to
send your message out of, then select your second personal email a/c as the "To" account.

7. Enter your subject, type your message and hit send, or if
forwarding simply click the "Send" button.

Doing it this way will prevent anyone seeing to whom you have sent your message ... i.e. privacy of all recipients will be maintained.

8. Some ISP's allow one to leave the "To" field blank which then automatically inserts "Undisclosed Recipients" in the "To" field when sent.  You may want to try it this way first to see if your ISP allows you to do send without your name in the "To" field. The worst that will happen is that your message won't be sent!  It will sit in your outbox until you choose one of your personal email addresses.

9. Ensure that all your email addresses are correct in your address book.

10.  Always give a person an "out" to not receive your mailings ... at the bottom of your message add "To remove yourself from further mailings hit reply with "remove me" in the subject line."

Owing to many spam issues, most ISP's have stopped allowing a blank "To" field and restricted the number of recipients (BCC) to 25 at a time for personal accounts.

Isn't it annoying to have to wade through heaps of names until eventually one arrives at the meat of the matter..??  Let alone everyone being able to lay their hands on everyone's e-mail address and who knows to whom they forward those mailings!

Any virus warnings or these infamous "Microsoft will be sending you a cheque, I've checked it out.....!!!!!" or similar you receive, PLEASE check them out at:

to verify their truth or not before forwarding any message!
